Our uniform policy contains provisions to meet these objectives and has been created with health and safety, value for money and practicality at its heart.

Additionally, it is important that our pupils feel a sense of belonging to our school. We believe that wearing a smart and practical uniform allows all children, regardless of their background, to feel equal to their peers and confident in their appearance. We also believe it is important for children to wear clothing that is conducive to a successful learning environment, including activity-appropriate clothing, such as sports attire.

The children look so smart! It enables them to develop a true sense of identity and belonging and hopefully makes life easier for parents not having to worry about what your child is going to wear.

Uniform:

• Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress
• Grey shorts (in the warmer months)
• White or Red polo shirt
• Red sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan
• Grey tights, grey or white socks
• Black shoes – not trainers
• Red and white checked dress (in the warmer months)

P.E. Kit:

• White/red t-shirt
• Black shorts
• Black Pumps for inside (velcro fastening)
• Trainers for outside
• Plain dark coloured tracksuit (in the winter months)
• Named draw string bag for kit

Optional extras:

• Football boots (mainly KS2 pupils) – we do not advise that parents buy these until they are informed that their child may wish to wear them for a specific teaching and learning activity or club.
• Red Fleece jacket (with logo)
• All items of clothing and footwear must be labelled with the pupil’s name.

At Beckbury we encourage all our children to wear our school colours for P.E. The School participates in a number of sport competitions throughout the year and loans kit to those competing.

The school is committed to meeting the DfE’s recommendations on costs and value for money. Every care is taken to ensure that our uniforms are affordable for all current and prospective pupils, and that the best value for money is secured through reputable suppliers.

The school does not enter into exclusive single supplier contracts or cash-back arrangements. School branded items are optional.
