PE at Beckbury CE Primary School

Physical Education is considered to be a vital part of the curriculum. The expectations are that all children have at least two sessions of physical education each week. The curriculum reflects a breadth of activities which include games, gymnastics, athletics and dance.

Children in KS2 go swimming during the summer term.

The school currently has a large playing field with markings for rounders, football and athletics.  In addition the playground provides a netball court and other colourful markings for playtimes and PE lessons.

We have close links with Idsall Specialist Sports College, with their instructors teaching a variety of sporting skills.  Key stage 2 children regularly take part in competitions with other small schools.

A traditional sports day is held during the summer term as well as a fun ‘Heptathlon’ where children try to beat their personal best.
